St. Michael Society

A breif History ;

St. Michael Society ( formerly known St. Anthony Society) was founded some where in 1946, a man from Togo,Tsevi named John Savie went around from house to house to gather catholics and people who were interested to become catholics, and he got few members.

He started teaching them in his house and leter reported to Rev.Fr.Kretchner from Derby Avenue, Fr.Kretchner was happy and tested them and three qualified to be baptised by Rev.Fr.Krestchner.

A man from Nigeria name Joseph Akalewonu also came to help Mr.John Savie.There were few Nigerians from Biafia State.

The two groups were together and started the Church at Nima including the people from Dahome-Benie and Nowundi or Losso.

At that time our number was 25 now we are over 200 members and we are now affiliated to the federation of Catholic Ewe Union in Accra Archdiocese est. in 1975.
